Dried Lakes and Sunshine

Before I left Las Vegas, I knew I wanted to shoot in the desert. I didn’t know where, and I didn’t know how I’d make it happen, but I knew it had to happen. My amazing sister had rented a car – a car I should note was not really made for off roading. What we did we decide to do with said car? Well, we went off roading.

As we puttered around in the Las Vegas desert and almost got stuck, we happened across a sign that pointed towards a dried lake bed, which we both decided would be a great spot for an impromptu photo shoot.

I’ll level with ya. I don’t have anything deep or insightful to say about this excursion. I don’t have some wisdom to pass along about what I learned or how I grew. This session was fun! It was just a good time with my sister being goofy in the sand. We got dirty and sweaty and let the hot wind blow our hair around. It was awesome. And afterwards, we went to a giant candy store and bought weird soda, which I highly recommend as a way to end a photo shoot.

Sometimes that’s all you need. You just need to goof around in the sunshine and finish the day with Zombie Brain pop. Be silly. Make memories. Give zero craps if other people are around. Do you. I hope you have one of those days soon, and in the meantime, enjoy ours.
