5 Things NOT To Do Before a Boudoir Photo Shoot

Strike a Pose, Not a Faux Pas: Navigating the Do's and Don'ts of Your Boudoir Experience

And yes, I like puns.....

Embarking on a boudoir photo shoot is an exciting adventure. However, there are a few pitfalls that could potentially damper your experience. So, let's dive into the "not-to-do" list to ensure your boudoir photo shoot is as fabulous as you are!

1. Skip the Spray Tan

While that golden glow may seem tempting, we strongly advise against getting a spray tan right before your boudoir session. Spray tans can rub off on furniture and clothing if they are too fresh, so if you do want to tan, make sure it's several days before. If you're planning to tan outside or in a tanning bed, do your best to avoid tan lines. Many photographers, including myself, don't edit those out.

2. Put the Glass Down: Say No to Alcohol

A glass of wine might seem like a good idea to calm pre-shoot nerves, but trust us on this one—opt for a mocktail or water instead. Alcohol can lead to redness and puffiness, affecting your skin's appearance. Stay hydrated with water to ensure you look and feel your absolute best.

You don't need alcohol to have an incredible boudoir experience!

3. Stick to Your Skincare Routine

This is not the time to experiment with new skincare products. Trying new products could lead to unexpected reactions or irritations—let's keep the focus on your radiant self! We want you feeling as good as possible, and a reaction to a new skincare regimen will make that hard to do.

4. Hands Off! No Nail Chewing or Polish Picking Allowed

Your hands are an essential part of your boudoir photos, so resist the urge to chew on those nails. Well-maintained hands can add a touch of elegance to your images. Treat yourself to a manicure or indulge in some cuticle oil instead—your hands will thank you, and your photos will too!

5. Don't Stress: Embrace the Experience

Last but certainly not least, avoid unnecessary stress. Your boudoir session is about celebrating you, exactly as you are. Trust in the expertise of our team, and let the experience unfold naturally. You've got this, and you've found a team to support you!

Remember, your boudoir session is a moment to revel in your unique beauty. By steering clear of these five "not-to-do" items, you're setting the stage for a photoshoot that reflects the confident, radiant individual you are. Cheers to capturing your beauty in every frame!
