Radiant Babe: Karen

Recently, I had the honor of photographing a phenomenal group of babes. It was a day of laughter, self-love and growth. During the shoot, I asked each one to tell me about their relationships with their bodies, and each woman had a different story to tell. They were allowed to share as much or as little as they wanted. I’d like to take the opportunity to share their stories as a way to recognize the strength of each of them individually and hopefully other women those with similar feelings about their bodies.

Here is Karen’s story: “Going through grade school and middle school I was a very overweight child. I was bullied a lot for this. Luckily, I had a grandma that always told me it didn’t matter. This helped me through a lot at a younger age. Later in high school, I did lose weight but always felt not good enough. In time, I realized, shape, color, and age does not matter. My husband tells me this all the time. This makes me feel beautiful, along with bringing two beautiful daughters into the world who I have tried to instill good body image. I still feel uncomfortable sometimes but rise above it, and remember we are all made differently. What I have been through has made me who I am.”

Ready to celebrate your body? Let’s set up a session!
