Overcoming Insecurity Featuring Babe S

We all have bad days. Sometimes we wake up in a funk, our emotions feel jumbled, and we don’t feel like ourselves. Then we end up feeling insecure and unsure of ourselves. I think Babe S was having that sort of day when she arrived for her boudoir shoot. And you know what? That’s ok. Whether you’re in a great place in your life or you’re feeling a little down, you’re welcome in my home. What I love seeing are women who power through and don’t let those insecure voices in their head prevent them from doing something amazing. Babe S showed up, no matter how she was feeling, and she slayed!

She was beautiful, she was graceful, she was trying everything I suggested, and even if she wasn’t feeling like herself, it wasn’t showing in her photos. These are the sort of empowerment sessions that make me think “dang, I have amazing clients.” She didn’t let anything stop her from having a killer boudoir session!

When Babe S arrived for her reveal session, she was worried she wasn’t going to like any of the photos. We tend to be our own worst critics, and since she was feeling a little out of it day-of, she didn’t think there were going to be any winners.

WRONG. Clearly Babe S had plenty of gorgeous photos to choose from. Even though she was feeling unsure during her shoot, none of that showed through on camera. I think this is because we had music pumping, we were chatting the whole time and we joked around. Go teamwork!

She ended up loving her session, and that is what makes empowerment photography so special to me. When you don’t think your photogenic, when you don’t think you got any good pictures, your reveal session turns it around and shows you how magical you are. Since starting reveal sessions, I haven’t had anyone hate their photos. In fact, most of my babes say “wow, I like way more of my pictures than I thought I would.” That’s because they are gorgeous and they just needed a nudge from someone else to notice.

What I learned the most from Babe S’s shoot is that bad days can’t stop us. They shouldn’t stop us. They are inevitable, and it’s ok to have an off day, but don’t let it stop you from doing what you want to do. Babe S could have called me and said she wasn’t coming in, but she didn’t! She came to the boudoir studio and kicked ass! I love her for that.
