5 Favorite Black Lingerie Ideas

I love black lingerie as a boudoir photographer. Don't get me wrong - colors are awesome, too! However, there's something extra sexy about a solid black set. Black lingerie matches any studio, looks great on all skin tones, and brings out the inner baddie in every one. There are so many incredible black lingerie sets out there, but these are five of my favorite. Let's jump into it:

From a boudoir photography standpoint, the metal details will catch light and add a variety of textures to the portraits. From an emotional standpoint, this set screams "bad ass." I've worked with A LOT of women over the last 8 years of being a boudoir photographer, and I've talked to a lot of people about their insecurities. Tummies tend to be a point of contention for a lot of my clients. If your stomach is an area that keeps you from feeling sexy, and you're working on it but you're just not quite there yet, a babydoll would be perfect for you. Shrugs and crop tops have become a trendy lingerie accessory lately, and I AM HERE FOR IT! A lot of lingerie doesn't come with sleeves, and I'm a big fan of any lingerie that mixes up the silhouettes. At my studio, clients can wear 3 outfits and I love to get as much variety as possible with those looks. That's why I adore this bodysuit and long sleeve shrug combo. The body suit is sexy, breathable and backless (perfect for showing off those shoulder muscles!). Long sleeves are also perfect for folks who are still working on loving or feeling neutral about their arms. If you've got stretchmarks, HS scars, cellulite or something else that you'd prefer to hide during a photo shoot, this mesh shrug is great. There's nothing wrong with having those things on your arms, but I also respect people's insecurities. I myself have cellulite on my arm I'm not the biggest fan of, and if wearing longer sleeves helps you feel more confident or sexual, I say go for it!

Morticia Addams called and she wants her smokin' hot bedroom gown back. I love lingerie dresses because they're timeless. They're classy, elegant and still sexy. I love the satin and lace details on this piece and the leg cutouts - oooh la la! This would be perfect for a boudoir shoot and to wear to bed each night. It looks pretty dang comfy. It goes up to xxl, so I wish it was a bit more size inclusive, but that's my only critique. It's got great reviews, with some folks even saying they've worn it for a night out.
