Learning to Love All that She Is

Babe M is a phenomenal human. When she contacted me about booking a session and we started to plan it, I felt a renewed joy in what I do for a living. People like Babe M are the reason I love boudoir because she used her session as a tool to express her power, beauty, and identity. Strength radiates from her, and she is a joy to be around. I love what she did with her session and what she got out of it. I could prattle on, but her story is best told from her own mouth. Soak in her images and words. They are truly spectacular.

How do you feel about your body? I'm beginning to love and honor it more and more every day. After being conditioned, suppressed and oppressed by society, culture and people in my life for my entire life, I'm learning to love all that I am and what I bring to the table. I'm sexy. I'm beautiful. I'm confident. I'm a survivor. I'm strong. I'm courageous. I'm bold. I'm honest. I'm empathic. I'm curvy. I'm boisterous. I'm genuine. I'm authentic. I'm an original. I AM ME.

What's your best tip for feeling sexy? Sexy is a mindset. Desire yourself! Look at yourself in the mirror with bedroom eyes. Touch your own body. Run your fingers through your own hair. Grab your own breasts. Clutch your own waist. Bite your own lip. Soak it all in and feel your inner and outer goddess.

How do you feel about your age? I'm 34. There was once a time where I had such a fear of my 30's. But that was all culture affecting my brain. It was all the per-conceived notions of who or what I was supposed to be based on my surroundings and what I allowed myself to visually, mentally and spiritually consume. I came to find that my 30's have been my most transformative years so far. This IS my best decade yet!

What gets better with age? I feel your eyes and your heart get better with age. With more lessons learned and more roads traveled, you see more kindly and feel more gently.

What's the best compliment you've ever received? I've received many that have touched my soul. I know I was put on this earth to be a helper; to help, encourage, support and inspire others. So when others communicate with me that I've given them love and light, I know I'm doing something correct and meaningful.

What do you wish you could tell your younger self? I'd tell her that we're going to be okay. Stay tough. Stay focused. We're going to get through this. We are going to make it and we are going to THRIVE.

Describe yourself in five words Honest. Silly. Ambivert. Loving. Compassionate.

What have you overcome or accomplished that you're proud of? There's so much I get to be proud of. I am an eating disorder survivor. I am a survivor of drug abuse. I am a survivor of child abuse, rape, domestic abuse and sexual assault. I am a survivor of suicide. I am now FINALLY openly queer (I like the wine and not the label). I've overcome and achieved so much in my life. I'm grateful I get to still be on this planet to share my stories and give light and hope to others.

On bad body image days, how will you remind yourself that you're awesome? I can squat and deadlift a linebacker. And that's pretty badass.

What's your favorite form of self care? I love to lift heavy and sweat it out at the gym. I love to cook (and eat - LOL!). I enjoy taking photos of myself and having my portrait taken by talented people. I enjoy being in nature hiking, as well as just relaxing at home with no pants watching Netflix. I also enjoy quality time with friends and family, and loving the crap out of my precious nephew, Louie.
