Unconventional Boudoir Outfits I Love

Updated: Aug 23, 2019

When you think about boudoir wardrobe, you mind probably jumps to bras, bodysuits, teddies and nighties. I love shooting in those outfits, but sometimes the best outfits are outside the box. Here are a few of my favorite pieces you may never have considered!

Body Chains

I think body chains are incredibly sexy. You can wear delicate chains or chains that are blinged out in gemstones. These are also great transition pieces, which means if you want to shoot nude but you need a little time to get there, use a body chain. I like to use body chains without bras or tops. Body chains let you try topless shots, but you still feel like you’re wearing something and your panties are still on. It’s a great stepping stone to shooting totally nude at the end of your shoot, which many women do.

Fur Coats

If you’re a fashionista, bring a fur coat to your boudoir shoot. It’s glamorous and unexpected. Plus, the texture is amazing, and if you’ve ever shot with me, you know how I love layering textures. A fur coat with no bra and a tiny pair of underwear? That’s sexy.

Wet Tee Shirts and Tank Tops

I recently added white tank tops to the Buxom Boudoir wardrobe, and I’m in love. Everyone’s chest looks amazing in a wet shirt. It’s a revealing outfit without actually exposing anything. But being exposed is empowering and amazing too, which is why I like to cut a little snip into the top of the tank top and have my clients rip it open! Nothing is more badass than that.

Tights or Fishnets

Fishnets are classic, and they look stellar on everyone. You might be used to wearing tights or fishnets under dresses and skirts, but during a boudoir shoot, they steal the show. I love pairing them with a black thong, or no underwear at all. If you’re not sure what to wear to your shoot, all you need is a pair of fishnets, and you’re set.
